28th February - 14th April 2019 Open Eye Gallery Liverpool
On 14th December 1918 women were allowed to vote for the first time; and in that same year the first woman MP was elected. To mark this significant moment in history, new photographic portraits of all 209 women MPs have been created exclusively by 209 women photographers. Wendy Carrig had the honor of photographing Dr.Rosena Allin-Khan, MP for Tooting and the Shadow Minister for Sport.
There is a commemorative book available including all 209 portraits via Kickstarter
The 209WOMEN project has been acquired by Parliament and will be included in one of the most important public collections in the UK, to be preserved for prosterity.
